The bundus
I have been here for almost a month now, so am now over the shock and homesickness ( ok maybe not) that has to do with moving.
I am adjusting well to living in a small town. In fact I think Im warming to the idea of living in a town so small that you can literally take a 15 minute walk from the start to the end of the town, along that route you will see a few car dealers, a coffee shop or two and if you lucky you might just spot someone who actually speaks English..let alone Tswana. The people here are mostly Afrikaner and not that open minded, so yes...they do stare.
The Mall is just a little shopping centre that was build into a strange shape, so I guess the people and architects in the bundus have far more pressing things to worry about that the way their "mall" looks. Anyway, there is not a fast food restaurant in sight or a decent clothing store. But I don't mind because this means that I save money. There really isn't anything that is worthy of me spending my money on..
But I spend most of my time on the road, so I drive up to CPT and Stellenbosch a couple of times a week and you won't believe how happy I am when I get to the city....wow I am turning into a farmgirl??
